Viewing or Changing the Status of a Stocktake Batch

Every stocktake batch in Micronet has a status which tells you how far the batch has progressed. The status of a batch changes automatically when it is downloaded to a PDA and then completed and posted back to Micronet.

You can view the status of a stocktake batch using the Warehouse Scheduler - Stocktakes tab. You can also use this tab to manually change the status of a batch.

Stocktake batches can have the following statuses:

Paperless – the stocktake batch is in the paperless queue waiting to be downloaded to a PDA
Normal – this is a traditional non-paperless stocktake batch that is awaiting manual counting. These batches can be set to the paperless queue if required.
On PDA – the stocktake batch is currently loaded onto a PDA and is being checked
Completed Paperless – the stocktake batch has been checked and posted back to Micronet, and is currently waiting to be posted
Completed Created – the stocktake batch was created on a PDA and has been posted back to Micronet where it is currently waiting to be posted to an existing batch
Posted to Existing – the stocktake batch has been posted into a master batch.

Technical Tip

There are two ways to post a stocktake batch into a master batch:

You can post one batch at a time using the POST TO EXISTING option in the Stocktake program – see "Stocktake Batch - File - Post to Existing".
Alternatively, you can post multiple batches into a master batch at once by changing the status of the batches to POST TO EXISTING BATCH as described below. This is a quick way to post many small PDA batches into a master batch for processing.

To view or change the status of a stocktake batch:

Open the Warehouse Scheduler screen.

Refer to "Displaying the Warehouse Scheduler".

Select the 4. Stocktakes tab.

Micronet displays the Warehouse Scheduler - Stocktakes tab.

This tab displays the following information:

	Field	Value
	Action	Any action performed on a stocktake batch through the Warehouse Scheduler that has not yet been processed, e.g. a change to the batch status. When you process the action by following the steps below, this reverts to No Action.
	Link
	Description	The description entered when the stocktake batch was created.
	Warehouse	The warehouse in which the stocktake is occurring as entered in the stocktake batch.
	Assigned to	The PDA to which the batch has been assigned. When a stocktake batch is initially created, it is assigned to 99999. When a PDA requests the next stocktake batch from the server, it first tries to download any batches assigned to its own PDA device number then, if none are found, it tries to download any batches assigned to 99999.
	Status	The current status of the stocktake batch as listed above.
	Type	The Stocktake Method entered when the stocktake batch was created – see "Creating a New Stocktake Batch".
	Size	2.8 Feature Micronet displays the number of items counted in the stocktake batch.

Technical Tip

This screen is not automatically updated. It is a good idea to select FILE | REFRESH every now and then to ensure you are viewing the most recent data.

2.8 Feature

You can copy and paste the list of stocktake batches to an Excel spreadsheet using the standard copy and paste functions (Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V) – see "Copying and Pasting from Micronet to Excel (v2.8)".

If you want to change the status of:

a single stocktake batch, select that batch
more than one stocktake batch, use the Shift key to select several batches in a row, or use the Ctrl key to select several batches that are not sequential.

Select EDIT SCHEDULE then select one of the following options:

SET SELECTED TO PAPERLESS QUEUE – reset the status of a batch back to the paperless queue awaiting assignment to a PDA (Status = Paperless)
POST TO EXISTING BATCH – post one or more small stocktake batches into a master batch for processing. You should only do this after you have entered the actual stockdate count quantities into the individual stocktake batches. The smaller batches will be posted to the first Normal batch for the same warehouse.

Note that the Action field has now changed to the status you selected.

To process the status change(s), select FILE | PROCESS.

Micronet processes your changes and then redisplays the Warehouse Scheduler - Stocktakes tab. Note that the Action field now displays No Action again and that the Status field has been updated.
